Cavotec RRCs operate water cannon at Swedish port

In another example of how our radio remote control (RRC) systems are used at some unusual applications around the world, one such unit recently entered service with two huge water cannon at Petroport in Stenungsund, southern Sweden.

Cavotec's explosion proof MC-35-EX unit operates two extinguisher systems mounted on a newly built chemicals handling berth at the port.

You can see images of this application on our Facebook page here.

The unit directs the cannon up, down, left and right, and adjusts the water spray from a concentrated "beam" to a fine mist. This application demands the use of explosion proof, or ATEX-classed equipment, and the RRC also enables personnel to operate the system from a safe distance.

Cavotec's customer on this project is Swedish engineering company Gycom. The final system supplier is Incendium Fire System.

Cavotec RRC systems are used at petrochemical ports, oil refineries, power plants and waste incineration facilities, construction sites and other applications worldwide.
