CB Customs Broker and LUG Frankfurt Launch eCommerce Partnership at Frankfurt Airport
Munich, June 2, 2026 – CB Customs Broker GmbH, a specialist in digital eCommerce customs clearance, and air cargo handling expert LUG aircargo handling GmbH announce their new partnership at Frankfurt Airport during the transport logistic trade fair in Munich. The aim: to accelerate and streamline the processing of cross-border eCommerce imports.
Automated eCommerce Customs Clearance and Handling on a Dedicated Site
At the core of the partnership is a dedicated, scalable 6,000 m² warehouse space within the LUG aircargo handling terminal in CargoCity South. CB Customs Broker’s proprietary software, supported by custom scanners, automates per-parcel customs clearance, transmits all required data to authorities, and steers handling and sorting on site. The solutions meets all regulatory standards and can process hundreds of thousands of shipments daily.
Two Experienced Partners with a Clear Focus on Efficiency and Speed
"With LUG, we gained a strong, experienced partner at the 'first line' of CargoCity South," says Uwe Glunz, Managing Director of CB Customs Broker. "Our eCommerce customs clearance solution, combined with direct apron access, saves time on import customs processing. This improves connectivity and time to market for international online retailers."
Patrik Tschirch, Managing Director of LUG aircargo handling GmbH, is equally enthusiastic: “In the rapidly growing eCommerce sector, speed is the most critical factor. With CB Customs Broker, we have a partner who has perfected customs processing in this area and knows the business well. Together, we aim to continue growing in this segment and look forward to further collaboration.”
Digital Customs Clearance as a Driver of Growth
Frankfurt Airport is strengthening its position as an important hub for cross-border online trade. CB Customs Broker had opened up the location for online retailers in 2023 with its customs clearance software. With LUG, this successful model is now being further expanded.
This new partnership highlights the growing demand for reliable and scalable eCommerce import processes. Digital customs clearance and automated workflows are the key enablers: they ensure fast and secure handling of increasing shipment volumes. Combined with efficient ground handling, online retailers gain valuable time, a decisive advantage in global competition.
