Cetasol is launching Ferry Program – inviting ferry owners for co-development

Cetasol is an innovative company developing intelligent solutions to support the maritime industry. Their flagship product, iHelm, is a decision support solution based on AI. iHelm provides small to medium-sized vessels with support in fuel savings, performance insights, reporting, and engine uptime. By acting upon the recommendations provided by iHelm, vessels can save 10-25% of fuel.

Cetasol is now starting a Ferry Program. Running in Q4 2025, the company is inviting Ferry owners to use iHelm for fuel savings while providing feedback on features and development specifically targeted towards ferries. The development is heavily influenced by data science and AI, enabling features that actually can make a difference to the industry.

iHelm – intelligent decision support

iHelm is a decision support solution for individual vessels and the entire fleet. iHelm helps save fuel, track vessel performance, stay compliant, and maximise uptime – with real-time decision support and data-driven insights.

The captain will receive real-time recommendations on the captain's display in the helm for fuel savings and reduced emissions. All of the data is transmitted to the cloud dashboard for owners and land-based personnel for fleet overview and vessel performance.

The Ferry program possibilities

During the program, operators will install iHelm onboard the vessel. Cetasol will work on developing ferry-specific features, and in this development, we will invite all of the ferry owners in the program to come with insights and feedback. This will ensure the development of features that are actually useful. At the end of the program, the operators will be offered to purchase the system at a discounted price with no binding contracts or obligations.

The final system, with ferry-specific features in iHelm, will consist of a comprehensive operational optimization tool. With iHelm installed onboard and the data gathered from the vessel, a digital twin model will be created and updated daily. Propulsion signals, trim, draft, passenger/vehicle load, weather, tides, current, wind, and speed-through-water will be integrated.
