Stromma Group Signs Frame Agreement With Cetasol for Fleet-Wide Deployment of iHelm Across Europe
Cetasol, a Swedish provider of intelligent decision-support solutions for the maritime sector, has signed a long-term frame agreement with Stromma Group to deploy its iHelm platform across Stromma’s fleet of approximately 140 vessels operating throughout Europe. The agreement marks a significant milestone in the companies’ collaboration, which began several years ago and has now progressed into large-scale implementation.
As part of the first phase of the agreement, a significant portion of the fleet will be equipped with iHelm during 2026. The broader framework establishes a structured path to extend the installation to the remainder of Stromma’s European fleet in the coming years.
"For us at Stromma, sustainability and operational excellence go hand in hand. Partnering with Cetasol allows us to take a major step forward in how we manage our fleet across Europe. iHelm gives our crews and our organisation the insights we need to operate more efficiently, reduce emissions, and make informed decisions about maintenance and the future of our vessels. This agreement marks an important milestone in our digital journey, and we are excited to scale this solution across our operations."
— Björn Hamberg, deputy CEO, Stromma Group
The deployment supports Stromma’s commitment to enhancing both environmental and operational performance. iHelm will be used across several key operational domains, including:
-
Fuel optimisation and energy efficiency
Helping crews reduce fuel consumption through real-time guidance and data-driven recommendations. -
Engine and vessel health uptime
Providing early detection of anomalies, see tends over time and improved vessel reliability. -
Operational monitoring and fleet management
Supporting consistent performance and reduced operational disruptions across Stromma’s fleet. -
Electrification assessment and future-fleet planning
Using operational data to evaluate electrification potential and support strategic decision-making.
iHelm combines onboard real-time recommendations with fleet-level insights through its cloud platform, giving operators a clear overview of vessel performance, condition, and energy use. For passenger and sightseeing operations operating in demanding urban waterways, the system provides a comprehensive toolset for balancing efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.
"Stromma has been a forward-thinking partner from day one, and we are proud to deepen our collaboration with this long-term agreement. Deploying iHelm across their European fleet demonstrates a strong commitment to both environmental impact and operational reliability. Together, we are showing how data-driven decision support can transform day-to-day operations while preparing fleets for a more sustainable future."
— Ethan Faghani, CEO & Founder, Cetasol
The strengthened partnership reflects Stromma’s ambition to be a forerunner of sustainable operations and to adopt modern digital tools that support both environmental goals and long-term fleet resilience.
