Charge Amps takes part in international REDD+ talks on fighting carbon dioxide emissions

On Tuesday November 3rd , SIDA Stockholm hosted an international information sharing session with global experts communicating the latest insights on how rainforest preservation programs can help reduce carbon dioxide emission. The annual deforestation of rain forests in the Amazonas, Africa and Asia account for up to 20% of the global CO2 emissions as cut down trees emit large amounts of stored CO2. REDD+ is a UN sanctioned system for selling CO2 emission rights and re-investing the money in development projects that preserve threatened rain forest and at the same time create sustainable living conditions for the local people in the areas threatened by deforestation.

Conclusions from the talks were a united view on the important role of private companies contributing to REDD+ programs by buying emission rights or funding their own REDD+ projects and that charities and NGO's need to improve in creating large scale investment- opportunities for pension funds and the financial sector.

Charge Amps was especially invited to the REDD+ talks this year.

-Reducing CO2 emissions via making EV/PHEV charging attractive, reliable and easy is the key mission for Charge Amps. Thus, we will continue to take part in and follow important progression in this field, says Charlotte Eisner CEO at Charge Amps
