A new Ipsos survey conducted on behalf of Citybox among 1,000 Norwegians shows that price and location now outweigh hotel luxury. As many as 58% have chosen not to book a hotel because it was too expensive, while 75% would choose a simpler hotel if it were centrally located.
Citybox has signed an agreement with Odfjell Eiendom to develop a new 170-room hotel at Sandbrogaten 5 and Øvre Dreggsallmenningen 6 in Bergen. The property offers a rare and highly attractive location just steps from the UNESCO-listed Bryggen area, and the hotel is currently planned to open in 2027.
