Consat Advisory: Merging business strategy with technical expertise

As Consat continues to evolve, a new business area has emerged – Consat Advisory. This new initiative is designed to complement Consat’s technical expertise by providing business-driven consultancy and advisory services. The goal is to help customers not only fully leverage new technologies but also align them with strategic business goals, ensuring that their investments deliver real, measurable returns.

While Consat is well-known for its advanced engineering solutions, many customers are looking for ways to scale their businesses, optimise product value, and ensure that technology investments lead to long-term success. This is where Consat Advisory steps in. Rather than focusing on technical implementation, Advisory provides the business rationale and strategy needed to make technology work effectively for companies.

It may seem like a new direction, but it’s a natural progression of the work Consat has been doing for years. Consat Advisory emerged from observing the broader challenges and opportunities faced by customers in, for example, digitalisation, connectivity, automation and electrification. Making products smarter is a guiding principle for Consat which includes taking a multi-disciplinary approach and secure an iterative way of work from a business, technology and user perspective.

By collaborating with Consat Engineering, Advisory ensures that there’s a clear business rationale and solid strategy behind technical implementations. In many cases, digitalisation of products enables new services for both internal and external users. Close liaison with Consat Design is imperative to secure a user-centric approach with seamless and intuitive experiences all along the user journey.

Experienced leadership

Leading the charge are two highly experienced professionals, Mikael Lindholm and Robert Brunbäck. Mikael, now the CEO of Consat Advisory, brings a wealth of experience from various industries, such as IoT and electric vehicle charging, having worked in business development and technical transformation projects worldwide. Robert recently joined Consat from Lynk & Co, where he most recently led the Connectivity unit enabling not only a full spectrum of infotainment, security and mobility solutions but also ground-breaking car sharing services. Furthermore, he has a strong background in telecommunications and IoT, and brings deep expertise in business development, connected services and product digitalisation.

Together, Mikael and Robert bring a wealth of experience that further positions Consat as a key player in guiding organisations through digital business transformation. Both Mikael and Robert offer practical insights from their hands-on experience, ensuring that Consat Advisory’s approach is grounded in both business strategy and real-world technical execution from various industries.

The need for business-centric solutions

At its core, Consat Advisory offers business consulting services, specifically tailored to companies that have strong technical ideas but lack the framework to turn them into scalable business models or make the necessary changes in, for example, internal processes, new partnerships or eco-systems to fully leverage the potential. It’s not just about making the technology work, but rather making the technology valuable for the business. Robert, who has firsthand experience in the automotive industry, highlights how this approach works in practice:

– The success of connected services, like car-sharing, isn’t just about the technology, it's also about navigating the business side, for example, new collaborations with insurance and payment partners. Equally important is to create a seamless user journey to build trust and transparency for new phenomenons, like sharing your car. We also need to take a life-cycle approach; securing continuous improvements of the digital service based on user feedback and new technical prerequisites. We help develop a full go-to-market strategy, covering pricing, partnerships, and business models.

Growth through collaboration

The future of Consat Advisory lies in steady, focused growth. The aim isn’t rapid expansion but building strong, long-term relationships with customers. By growing alongside customers and continuing close collaboration with Consat Engineering and Consat Design, Advisory will ensure that businesses maximise the value of their technology investments.

– Customers often come to us because they know Consat as “doers of innovation” in the technical space. Now, with Advisory, they can also see how we help them build a solid business foundation and transformation plan to support that innovation, says Mikael.
