President Cyril Ramaphosa about Star for Life
Star for Life has been highly praised by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa for its 20 years of dedicated work, promoting students' self-esteem and health as tools for making wise life decisions.
At a meeting on 12 December, Ramaphosa showed his appreciation to founder and chairman Dan Olofsson for the work that Star for Life does.
Since its inception in South Africa in 2005, Star for Life has expanded to Namibia, Tanzania, Sweden, Ukraine and East Jerusalem. A total of 540,000 young people have completed Star for Life's four-year programme.
Dan Olofsson comments: "When we started, we received Nelson Mandela's appreciation, which energised our organisation. Now, 20 years later, when we see the results of what Star for Life has achieved, receiving the same support from Cyril Ramaphosa is a great tribute to all our 150 employees who do outstanding work.
In addition to Star for Life, they also discussed the investments Dan Olofsson's company Danir is making in South Africa in the form of Thanda Safari and an exclusive villa project. Danir is also an investor in Norrsken22, one of Africa's largest funds for growth in the tech sector, providing Africa with know-how from Swedish tech companies.
