World Refugee Day – DRC Danish Refugee Council collaborates with design company in raising awareness of displaced people

“What does a home mean to you?”

Around the world, the number of people who don’t have a home due to conflict and war is increasing, according to the U. N. Therefore, the leading Danish NGO in forced displacement, DRC Danish Refugee Council (DRC), partner up with the design company Lucie Kaas, combining business with social responsibility in a new campaign.

In the social media campaign, leading up to World Refugee Day, June 20, admired members from all facets of the design world gather to reflect on the concept of a HOME. In short videos and soundbites, the campaign embraces the power of design to communicate, inform, and influence our decisions regarding the global refugee crisis.

“We want to put the reality for over 80 million people around the world into an understandable and relatable context to raise awareness and raise funds to aid the global refugee crisis.”
- Lucie Kaas.

About the campaign:

  • The videos and soundbites will be in collaboration with an array of designers, and they will be posted on Lucie Kaas’ SoMe throughout the month of June, leading up to World Refugee Day, June 20. Follow the campaign @luciekaas.
  • The campaign will be providing resources of how people can get involved or contribute to the crisis efforts.
