Ratingen, Deutschland, October 22, 2026 — ASUS today announced that the ASUS ZenWiFi BN12, the world’s first WiFi 8 mesh router originally unveiled at Computex, combining ultra-high reliability with intelligent mesh coordination to deliver stable, efficient, and seamless connectivity throughout the modern smart home, is now shipping. The ZenWiFi BN12 is a tri-band model delivering speeds of up to 19Gbps, featuring advanced WiFi 8 technologies including new Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) rates, Unequal Modulation (UEQM), Non-Primary Channel Access (NPCA), and Multi-Access Point Coordination.

Modern homes rely on an increasing number of connected devices across multiple rooms and floors, making consistent coverage and reliable connectivity more important than peak speed alone. The ZenWiFi BN12 combines WiFi 8 technology with Smart AiMesh, intelligent traffic optimization, and enhanced network visibility to provide stable connections across the home, even in demanding multi-device environments. Ultra-high-reliability WiFi 8 offers improved mid-to-long-range throughput, wider IoT coverage, and more consistent whole-home connectivity.

Smart AiMesh enhances mesh coordination and backhaul performance for seamless, reliable connectivity throughout the home. The ZenWiFi BN12 also features Adaptive QoE, which dynamically optimizes network resources based on real-time application and traffic demands. Meanwhile, ASUS WiFi Insight enables full-spectrum interference detection and real-time network visibility. And dual 10G Ethernet ports provide high-speed wired networking for demanding home network setups.

The ZenWiFi BN12 also provides comprehensive network protection with commercial-grade AiProtection, security scanning, Safe Browsing, Triple DNS Guard, advanced parental controls, and comprehensive VPN support. Network-level protection helps safeguard connected devices without requiring separate security software on every device, while advanced parental controls give families greater flexibility to manage online access, content, and internet schedules.

WiFi 8 reliability

Unlike previous WiFi generations that primarily focused on increasing peak speeds, WiFi 8 emphasizes ultra-high reliability. New technologies improve performance consistency as signal conditions change, strengthen connectivity at mid-to-long range, and enhance communication with low-power devices at the edge of the network.

The ZenWiFi BN12 empowers users to experience more consistent connectivity throughout the home, including rooms farther away from mesh nodes and areas traditionally affected by weaker signals. Smart-home and IoT devices can also maintain more reliable connections at the edges of WiFi coverage.

ASUS Smart AiMesh flexibility

Smart AiMesh combines ASUS mesh networking technology with WiFi 8 enhancements. Mesh nodes can intelligently coordinate their connections and optimize backhaul performance; the ZenWiFi BN12 provides coverage of up to 7,000 square feet in the two-pack configuration.

As homes become increasingly connected, a strong signal from a single router is no longer enough. Smart AiMesh creates an intelligent, extendable mesh network that takes advantage of WiFi 8 coordination technologies to improve coverage, reduce interference, and maintain reliable connections between mesh nodes and connected devices.

Users can enjoy seamless connectivity as they move throughout the home, with reliable coverage across multiple rooms and floors. The extendable AiMesh ecosystem also gives users the flexibility to expand their network as their coverage needs grow.

Adaptive Quality of Experience

Adaptive QoE automatically observes network traffic and dynamically adjusts priorities in real time based on the needs of different applications and connected devices. Traditional Quality of Service (QoS) relies on predefined classifications and static priorities. The ZenWiFi BN12 responds dynamically to changing network conditions, helping allocate network resources more efficiently as different devices and applications compete for bandwidth. Households can run multiple activities simultaneously, such as streaming, video calls, gaming, smart-home services, and downloads, while maintaining smooth and consistent performance across connected devices.

WiFi Insight

ASUS WiFi Insight provides full-spectrum analysis of WiFi and non-WiFi interference, along with interactive network visualization, intelligent channel switching, and a 24-hour history log. As home networks grow more complex, diagnosing connection issues used to require guesswork or enterprise-grade tools. Through this feature, the ZenWiFi BN12 brings real-time monitoring and interference analysis to your network, making channel optimization simple—for faster, more reliable WiFi. Users gain a clearer understanding of network conditions and potential sources of interference. Intelligent optimization helps maintain more stable and reliable connectivity throughout the home without requiring users to manually diagnose complex wireless issues.

High-speed wired connectivity

The ZenWiFi BN12 also features two 10G Ethernet ports and three 2.5G Ethernet ports, providing flexible high-speed WAN and LAN connectivity for demanding home networks. As multi-gigabit internet services, NAS devices, PCs, and other high-bandwidth devices become increasingly common, multi-gigabit Ethernet helps wired connections remain fast and responsive.

Lower Total Cost of ownership: VPN, Security, and Parental Controls without a Subscription

ASUS routers come standard with features that many vendors charge for on an ongoing basis: commercial-grade network security, advanced parental controls, a built-in VPN with VPN Fusion and Instant Guard, and a three-year extended warranty. All of them are included, with no trials or subscriptions. Protection works at network level, so devices don’t need their own security software. Parental controls and VPN come without recurring fees, and the extended warranty adds planning certainty. Together, this lowers the total cost of ownership (TCO) over the router’s lifetime.

Availability and pricing

The ASUS ZenWiFi BN12 is now available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland at a recommended retail price of 1160.95 EUR / CHF incl. VAT from specialist retailers and online shops.
