100 years of Herth+Buss – Family, Partnership, Innovation

This year, parts specialist Herth+Buss is celebrating a very special anniversary: on 29 June 2025, the company will look back on 100 years of company history. Since its foundation in 1925, Herth+Buss has been synonymous with reliability, innovative strength and partnership. The values of family, partnership and innovation have always characterised the corporate philosophy and remain the basis for sustainable success to this day.

A company with tradition – the history of Herth+Buss

Herth+Buss was founded in 1925 by Philipp Herth and Jakob Buss. Just a few years later, in 1932, Wilhelm Meffert – grandfather and great-grandfather of the current Managing Directors Holger and Jens Drewing – took over the management of the company and thus laid the foundation for a strong family tradition.

In 1958, his son-in-law Dr Rainer Drewing took over the management and led the company into a new era. In 1992, Holger and Ralf Drewing took the helm and sustainably strengthened the company's market position. With Jens Drewing, who took over the management in 2024 as the fourth generation of his family to do so, Herth+Buss can look back on a continuous period of family management which still characterises the company today.

The family atmosphere is not only reflected in the company management, but also in the daily interactions between the more than 300 employees worldwide. Solidarity and trust are the values on which the company has been built for 100 years.

Partnership as a model for success

Working in partnership is a central element of the corporate strategy. Herth+Buss views its relationships with customers, suppliers and partners not just as business relationships, but as long-term co-operations based on trust. As early as the 1960s, the range was extended to include vehicle parts for French, English and Italian brands. With the growing market for Asian vehicles in the 1980s, the Nipparts brand was introduced - especially for Japanese and Korean vehicles. Today Herth+Buss is one of the most reliable partners for workshops and trade worldwide. Regional bases, fast deliveries and a comprehensive range of products ensure the long-term success of this close cooperation. The partnership-based development of innovative solutions for market requirements is an essential part of the company's philosophy.

100 years of innovation

Ever since the company was founded, Herth+Buss has stood for innovative solutions in the automotive aftermarket. It all began with ignition system components. Over the decades, the company has developed into one of the world's leading suppliers of international spare parts.

The company's innovative strength is also evident in modern product solutions such as the cloud-based diagnostic solution ‘Diagnosis on Demand’ or the cooperation with AUTEL in the field of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Herth+Buss is maintaining its pioneering role in the industry by identifying industry trends early on and continuously developing its range.
