A four-legged friend on the road to recovery: Boyka's impressive healing story - supported by innovative care products from SolyPlus
Healing wounds is not only a challenge for humans - our faithful four-legged companions also sometimes face health hurdles. The story of Boyka, a brave male Rottweiler, is an impressive example of how modern veterinary medicine and high-quality care products can make all the difference.
A supposedly minor operation with unexpected complications
Boyka, a handsome seven-year-old male dog weighing 45 kilograms, had to undergo routine surgery on September 25.
A small wart on his right thigh was removed, but the associated skin graft led to unexpected complications. To close the resulting wound, the vets transplanted skin from the inner thigh area.
What initially looked like an uncomplicated procedure turned into a challenge:
Just three days after the operation, the wound began to ooze heavily. The healing process stagnated and Boyka's condition deteriorated noticeably. The transplanted skin did not grow and eventually had to be removed, which increased the size of the wound to an impressive 15 cm long and 8 cm wide.
Phovia light therapy as a glimmer of hope
To promote wound healing, the treatment team began using the Phovia lamp, an innovative LED light therapy known in veterinary medicine for its supportive properties in tissue regeneration, on October 4. Despite this modern approach, it turned out on October 8 that the transplanted skin had died and the wound had to be surgically treated again.
Hyaluron powder from SolyPlus: support for wound care
A decisive step in Boyka's recovery was the use of hyaluronic acid powder from SolyPlus.
