Wildcorn takes over “sponsorship for flower strips” in cooperation with Mellifera e.V.

Berlin, GER, For Immediate Release - The non-profit association Mellifera e.V. has been advocating the protection of bees, people and nature since 1985. The aim is to draw attention to the endangered bees and improving their living conditions. This resulted in the formation of several initiatives e.g. “Das Netzwerk Blühende Landschaft”, “Bienen machen Schule” or the “Bündnis zum Schutz der Bienen“.

Mellifera e.V. is a true pioneer in terms of ecological beekeeping, which is oriented according to the bees' natural needs. They are taking care of blossoming flower strips at the edge of fields that serve as habitat to wildlife. This blaze of colours provides nectar for butterflies as well as bees and the seeds serve as food source for many birds. Also reptiles and small mammals live in that flower strip and use it as their nesting site.

Wildcorn makes up for its corn consumption at a ratio of 1:1 – for every kilo of corn harvested, Wildcorn takes care of providing a blossoming flower strip on a correspondingly large area of arable land. Wildcorn not only tastes good, but at the same time does a good deed.
