New partnership – DEFA and Wattif EV: The perfect destination charging collaboration

Another significant player in the EV charging market has chosen DEFA Power charging station; it is now official that DEFA Group and Wattif EV have entered into an agreement spanning the European market.
”DEFA Power is the next generation destination charger which sets new standards for EV charging”, says Bård Klungseth, CEO of DEFA Group.

Under this contract, DEFA and Wattif EV will collaborate to rollout charging points to existing parking spaces.

Bård Klungseth, CEO of DEFA:
“DEFA has, over the last years, developed a ‘state of the art’ destination charger with the user in mind. The focus has been to give the user a seamless, intuitive charging experience. Our commitment to using open standards and protocols fits very well with Wattif’s requirements. DEFA Power is the next generation destination charger that sets new standards for EV charging standards”.

Wattif EV is expanding the EV charging infrastructure across Europe by entering into partnerships with owners of parking spaces and taking full responsibility from start to finish, including operation, support, and maintenance. Wattif EV also facilitates the replacement of old chargers with smart, future-proof ones. To date, Wattif EV has secured contracts to establish charging in more than one and a half million parking spaces around Europe, a third of which are in Sweden.

“Wattif has a clear and scalable business model that fits perfectly with DEFA's operations. They move fast and have ambitious targets for becoming one of the market leaders. We look forward to supporting Wattif in making destination charging available for everyone,” says Bård Klungseth.

Robert Svendsen, CEO of Wattif AS, claims:
“This new venture with DEFA further strengthens our position as a key provider of destination EV charge points across Europe. It’s through relationships with providers like DEFA, that Wattif will enhance its offering to existing and potential customers. We’re delighted that DEFA has chosen to work with us, and we’re excited to be able to roll out their new, smart product offering, which we’ll be announcing shortly.”
