Denator launches Stabilizor T1 at HUPO 2008
Instant stabilization of tissue samples upstream enhances quality and value of analytical results downstream
Gothenburg, Sweden, 11. 08. 2008.
Denator AB announced today that, StabilizorTM T1, the company's first commercially available system for instant stabilization of tissue samples, will be shown for the first time at HUPO 2008 in Amsterdam.
Rapid degradation of proteins and peptides in ex vivo samples is a well known problem facing scientists trying to establish proteomic and peptidomic profiles in normal or diseased states. The smallest changes upstream can significantly influence results downstream, and degradation begins within seconds of a tissue being sampled. As a consequence, vital information about the original biological state may be destroyed or distorted, leading to inter-sample variation and the risk of incorrect data interpretation.
Stabilizor T1, based on Denator's proprietary heat inactivation technology, enables scientists to stabilize tissue at the crucial moment of sampling. By stopping degradation instantly and permanently, scientists can now determine the original biological state of every sample, improve data interpretation and discover novel proteins and peptides that would normally go undetected.
Olof Sköld, CEO at Denator, stated: "The importance of establishing standardized sample preparation and preservation techniques is well recognized - as is the challenge of retaining highly unstable molecules such as phosphorylated peptides in their original state. Throughout the development of our technology platform, we have collaborated closely with leading laboratories in the areas of proteomics and peptidomics. Their excellent feedback has contributed significantly to Stabilizor T1, the first in a series of products that we believe will significantly change the approach to sample preparation in many laboratories."
About Denator
Denator intends to become the leading supplier of products that stabilize biological tissues and fluids from the moment of sampling. Stabilization and standardization of sampling processes upstream significantly enhances the quality of data obtained from analytical techniques used downstream. In proteomic and peptidomic investigations, enhanced data quality increases the reliability of data interpretation and can reveal novel proteins and peptides that would be lost or undetectable when using conventional preparation techniques. Based upon the company's proprietary heat-inactivation technology platform, Denator is developing solutions that enable scientists to stop sample degradation immediately and maintain the stability of sample components throughout the analytical workflow. Established in 2004, Denator is headquartered at the Biotech Center in Gothenburg, Sweden. For more information visit: www.denator.com or contact:
