Develco Products participates in the world’s first product inspection accreditation for IoT cyber security

As cyber security becomes increasingly crucial in the digital age, establishing common security measures to protect digital solutions and products against breaches is paramount.

To enhance consumer protection and ensure safe usage of IoT products, the European Union is implementing stringent market requirements and standards through the Cyber Resilience Act.

Develco Products devices used as basis for successful accreditation cases

Develco Products, a leading provider of a white label IoT platform and IoT products, is proud to announce its participation in securing the world’s first product inspection accreditation for IoT cyber security.

The Alexandra Institute, a technological research and service institute in Denmark, has achieved the first ever accreditation to inspect IoT products for cyber security risks, awarded by DANAK (The Danish Accreditation Fond).

This accreditation marks a significant industry milestone in ensuring the cybersecurity of IoT products being brought onto the market and into the hands of consumers.

Three inspection cases with the Squid.link gateway as central IoT hub

The foundation of this accreditation is built on three IoT product inspection cases, using a range of Develco Products’ devices with the Squid.link gateway as the core.

These cases address key markets for Develco Products, including a home care scenario using Develco Products' Audio Assistant and Panic Button, and a security scenario employing the Intelligent Keypad, Smart Siren, and other security-related devices.

Gaining a deeper understanding of emerging IoT security requirements to benefit customers

Through the product inspection of these test IoT ecosystems, the Alexandra Institute has been able to test and validate their inspection system through the collaboration with Develco Products.

“We are delighted to be part of this collaboration. As a designer and manufacturer of an IoT platform, it is crucial for us to build a deep understanding of existing and future cyber security standards and requirements. This benefits both Develco Products and our customers”, says Jesper Hæe, Senior Software Architect at Develco Products.
