Brickshare secured DKK 10M in investment from SEED Capital for a crowdfunding platform for real estate projects.

Copenhagen, January 24, 2018: Several investors, among them Pre-Seed Ventures and SEED Capital are investing a large amount in Brickshare, a fintech start-up that aims to make it easier for private investors to invest in real estate. In 2017, Brickshare received a so-called ‘discovery’ fund worth 500,000 DKK, that is given to companies in their very early stages by Pre-Seed Innovation. The investors are now ready with a large investment and Brickshare, with Junaid Ahmad at the helm, has now raised around 10 million DKK.

Junaid Ahmad, Founder and CEO of Brickshare explains; “I am incredibly pleased that we have succeeded with this venture. This will help fuel our vision of creating a more transparent real estate market. The investment comes at the right time as we are about to expand our investment portal and assemble a dream-team for Brickshare. We are currently looking for a CFO and a CTO and creating a Board of Directors with the help from our investors”.

When asked what the motivation was behind such a large investment, Niels Vejrup Carlson, Senior Investment Director at Pre-Seed Ventures and now in the Board of Directors for Brickshare, stated that;

“Brickshare is doing something incredibly interesting. They are creating a new era in the real estate market by making the investment process in real estate more democratic. I find this to be very invigorating as it will challenge the current system with established stakeholders such as the Danish credit-unions. To me, that’s truly exciting. It is always interesting when companies question status quo and Brickshare is doing exactly that. This provides us with an opportunity to rethink the current financing process around investments in real estate. Junaid knows how to jump high and execute things fast, so I look forward to being part of Brickshare”.

More than 200 private investors are onboard

“We have just raised 8.5 million DKK in crowdfunding for real estate projects and the prospects are very good. We have over 1800 users on our investment portal, so we know that there is a huge public demand for the real estate projects that we are currently working on” clarifies Junaid Ahmad. bBrickshare’s property portfolio is currently worth around 20 million DKK.

How does Brickshare operate

• Brickshare is a digital investment portal that facilitates investments made by private investors for crowdfunded real estate projects. One can become an investor with as little as 10,000 DKK.
• The invest gives a return 12 times/year (your share of the rental income) and a stock increase based on the appreciation of the real estate market.
• The investor can at any point sell their share based on the current market price
• Brickshare manages all maintenance and upkeep of the properties in their portfolio
