Bastian Buus secures DTM deal with German Porsche team

The 22-year-old Porsche factory driver can finally look forward to making his DTM debut, having signed an agreement with Germany’s Land-Motorsport for a full 2026 campaign.

A childhood dream is coming true for Bastian Buus, who in 2026 will make his debut in the legendary German GT series, Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft. The news was revealed during Porsche’s traditional season-ending celebration, Night of Champions, on Saturday evening, where it was also confirmed that the Dane will compete with Land-Motorsport – a German team with more than 30 years of experience and success in series such as the Porsche Carrera Cup, as well as victories in iconic endurance races including the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

“This is a huge personal dream that I can finally begin to realise. DTM was one of the first international races I watched from the grandstands as a child, and it was what sparked my ambition to become a professional racing driver. It is a top-level series with a fantastic history, and the fact that I can finally compete – and even fight for top results together with Porsche – is something that genuinely gives me goosebumps,” said Bastian Buus.

Fans of Bastian Buus will remember that the Dane was also announced for DTM last year, but challenges within the former team meant the programme was shut down before the season began. Together with Land-Motorsport, which made its DTM debut last year and secured one race win and two further podiums – and which will switch from Audi to Porsche for 2026 – there is a solid foundation for a successful campaign.

“In our debut season we demonstrated that we can compete at the sharp end of the field. We are confident that for 2026 we have a strong package in partnership with Porsche, and with Bastian Buus we gain a young driver who brings a great deal of talent to the team,” said Land-Motorsport team principal Christian Land.

Porsche made a strong impression on the 2025 edition of DTM, where the factory-run Manthey Racing claimed the drivers’, rookie and teams’ championships. The 2026 season will feature eight rounds – each consisting of two sprint races – and will get underway at the Red Bull Ring in April.
