Update on Crowdfunding Week # 2
I´ve become somewhat of a techie after a week with two tech events in New York: At NY Tech Day on April 25, I met GiveGab, a new online service that connects volunteers with organisations. We´re now on their platform where new volunteers can sign up! http://ow.ly/kFhrd
Then, Michaela Lehr and Richard Brammer (in the picture) of Geil,Danke! flew in from Berlin to New York to join in on TechCrunch Disrupt where we had a booth together. Check out the press release: http://ow.ly/kFhtL
May 1st was The International Workers’ Day - and I met with Sean Sweeney of the Workers’ Institute at Cornell University, New York, who is in charge of the Trade Unions Energy Democracy Initative, worldwide. Imagine that this exits! I´m all fired up about this, and we are looking into how to cooperate! Check out energydemocracyinitiative.org.
Take a look at the photos from New York in the Facebook album: http://ow.ly/kFhw3
Again this week, we’ve had some good coverage by media:
- Craig Morris has been interviewed by Telepolis: http://ow.ly/kFhXs
- Waqas Hussain has written a guest blog post on A Greener Life, a Greener World: http://ow.ly/kFi0f
- Energy Democracy was included in a presentation on crowdfunding at at startup event in Austria by crowdfunding expert Wolfgang Gumpelmaier http://ow.ly/kFi14 (Thank you!), and he reviewed our project, too: http://ow.ly/kFi4r .
We´ve also released two new videos by Craig Morris in the Video Gallery Section. One is on the so called wind turbine syndrome: http://ow.ly/kFhUq. The other teaches you four German words and contains breaking news: Wind turbines are not invisible! ;-) http://ow.ly/kFi9k
Then, we´ve joined the Action Alliance for communication in the Renewable Energy Sector –which was formed in Germany in March 2013. http://ow.ly/kFi8oThe 4000 USD perk targeting businesses and organisations has been renamed to ”Videostar! Get featured” and rephrased, and to those who want to know more, there are now two proposals uploaded at the bottom of our gallery section, explaining in detail what you get (in German and in English!)
So: Any videostars around? Then check out our
proposal here http://ow.ly/kFhPJ or
forward it to a business or other organisation who need a communication boost!
Have you already told all your friends about Energy Democracy? Did you know that people typically need to see things 7 times before they take action? Therefore: Please, keep talking to your friends about Energy Democracy, and keep sharing our message – together, we´ll walk the talk and reach our crowdfunding goal!
See you on www.energydemocracy.tv!
Until then: Be the Renewable Energy you want to see in the World!
