Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 takes home two prestigous tire test titles

Brussels, Belgium, September 29, 2015 – Goodyear announces that its new all season tire, Vector 4Seasons Gen-2, wins first place in German magazine AutoBild’s latest tire test[1] and wins first place for braking on wet, snow and ice in the independent TÜV test[2] ordered by Goodyear. The Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 is an all-season tire with a focus on winter performance and excellent summer capabilities that can meet the most challenging road conditions in Europe all year round. AutoBild put ten different tires to the test, evaluating a wide range of criteria, including traction, handling and braking in snowy, wet and dry circumstances, with Goodyear’s all-season tire leading in all categories against all latest competitors¹. The tire also landed first place in the independent TÜV test ordered by Goodyear in braking on wet, snow and ice against all competitors tested².

In the Autobild test¹, the Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 (size 195/65R15 91H) demonstrated ‘exemplary’ multi-talent with best wet-handling features, highest aquaplaning reserves and shortest wet braking distances, excellent fuel-efficiency due to low rolling resistance and highest mileage, leaving all competition behind.

The promises of the Vector 4Seasons have also been confirmed by the independent TÜV test ordered by Goodyear². The results have shown that the tire is a leader for braking on wet surfaces, snow and ice braking compared to all competitors tested. V4S therefore helps ensure driver safety during challenging road conditions. On snow, the Vector 4Seasons proved to have an 8% shorter braking distance as compared to the average of its 3 leading competitors. In the same tests, the Vector 4Seasons also showed 6% shorter breaking distance on wet surfaces and a 9% shorter braking distance on icy roads compared to the average of its 3 leading competitors.

“We are pleased to see that these test results confirm the performance of the newest member of the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons family. Goodyear is committed to providing safety during all weather conditions, especially more challenging situations such as on wet, icy and snowy roads. These test results reinforce our 30 years of All Season leadership to contribute to road safety and give families across Europe peace of mind,” said Alexis Bortoluzzi, Goodyear Marketing Director Consumer EMEA.

The new Vector 4Seasons builds on over 30 years of all-season tire innovation, as well many years of insights delivered from all-season fitments by previous generations on hundreds of original equipment (OE) vehicles including leading brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, Fiat, Jeep, Opel, Ford and Renault.

Today Goodyear’s award-winning Vector 4Seasons Generation 2 tires are available at retail outlets in all key European markets, with additional sizes added to the range through January 2016. In total a line-up of 43 different sizes, including 3 run on flat models, will be made available on the market by early 2016. The new generation tire will integrally replace its predecessor in those markets over time.
