Kunsthal Charlottenborg celebrates its 140th anniversary in 2023. The occasion is marked by this autumn’s major exhibition Full of Days, which presents a range of all-new, specially commissioned works that respond directly to Charlottenborg’s history as an exhibition venue with no collection and no historical archive.

In a few weeks, Kunsthal Charlottenborg will open its doors for the autumn season presenting the international group exhibition Seeds and Souls curated by Christine Eyene featuring artists from Australia, Barbados, Cameroon, India, Mauritius, United Kingdom, Venezuela and more, including Brook Andrew, Shiraz Bayjoo and Sonia Boyce.
Om få uger slår Kunsthal Charlottenborg dørene op for efterårssæsonen og præsenterer den internationale gruppeudstilling Seeds and Souls kurateret af Christine Eyene. Kunsthallens besøgende kan se frem til at opleve en stort anlagt udstilling med en perlerække af både helt nye og ældre værker i anledning af Kunsthal Charlottenborgs 140 års jubilæum samt en international gruppeudstilling, der med udgangspunkt i kunsthallens placering forbinder botanikkens historie med menneskelige og kulturelle forflytninger gennem tiden.
Stillingen som direktør på Kunsthal Charlottenborg blev slået op i foråret 2023, da den eksisterende åremålsansættelse udløb. Ansættelsesprocessen er nu forbi, og et enigt ansættelsesudvalg har peget på Michael Thouber som kunsthallens fortsatte direktør.
Kunsthal Charlottenborg Biennale is an international art exhibition on streets, train stations and bus stops all over Denmark. In the 2023 edition, the biennale will also occupy a store in central Copenhagen with a special display of the pioneering work AIDS by the legendary artist group General Idea.

This summer, Kunsthal Charlottenborg presents the most extensive solo show to date featuring Danish artist Alexander Tovborg. With the exhibition The Church, he transforms the entire south wing into an immersive installation which uses the idea of the church space as its architectural and conceptual framework.
Til sommer præsenterer Kunsthal Charlottenborg den hidtil mest omfattende soloudstilling med den danske kunstner Alexander Tovborg. Med udstillingen Kirken omdanner han kunsthallens store sydfløj til en totalinstallation med kirkens rum som arkitektonisk og konceptuel ramme. Her undersøger kunstneren kirkens mystik, troens paradokser og billeders magt.
In 2023, Kunsthal Charlottenborg celebrates its 140th anniversary. To mark the occasion, last spring Charlottenborg launched a competition to find the curator(s) for an upcoming exhibition to delve into the venue’s history. Now, the winners of the competition are announced.
I 2023 har Kunsthal Charlottenborg 140-års jubilæum. Kunsthallen udskrev i den forbindelse en konkurrence for at finde kuratorerne til en kommende udstilling, der skal fortælle udstillingsbygningens historie. Nu annonceres vinderne af konkurrencen.
Charlottenborgs Kaffeklub bringer kunstmiljøet, politikere, fonde og kommercielle aktører sammen til en samtale om, hvordan politikerne prioriterer og hvordan støttegiverne arbejder. De kommercielle modeller bliver undersøgt nærmere og der sættes spørgsmål til, hvorvidt kunsten er fri, når pengene sætter rammerne for kunstnerisk udvikling og dannelse?
Charlottenborgs Kaffeklub har siden 2019 samlet kunstnere, kunstinstitutioner og politikere til en kop kaffe og en konstruktiv samtale om visionerne for fremtidens kulturpolitik og kunstneriske dannelse. Efter syv vellykkede kaffeklubber er Kunsthal Charlottenborg og Bikubenfonden glade for at kunne fortsætte samarbejdet om Charlottenborgs Kaffeklub frem til 2026.
I år dimitterer 34 kunstnere fra Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademis Billedkunstskoler og præsenterer traditionen tro deres værker på den årlige afgangsudstilling. Afgang 2023 kurateres af Natalia Sielewicz fra Museum of Modern Art i Warszawa og åbner den 20. april på Kunsthal Charlottenborg.
