MARTEC and Training Ship DANMARK ready for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro

The national Danish Training Ship DANMARK has arrived in Rio de Janeiro ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games. Patron of the ship, His Royal Highness Prince Joachim and MARTEC are hosting a gala dinner on August 3rd with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary as honorary guests.

The gala dinner marks the beginning of the ship’s stay in Brazil, where MARTEC and Training Ship DANMARK will act as a platform for Denmark and Danish industry during the 2016 Olympic Games. Guests at the gala dinner will be Brazilian, Danish and international leaders, officials and diplomates including several high-ranking members of the Brazilian navy leadership and representatives from Danish industry. The evening will made especially memorable by the national Danish Girl Choir, who will perform during the dinner on board.

The purpose of the Olympic Voyage is to deepen the good maritime education cooperation between Brazil and Denmark and at the same time make a unique platform available for Danish industry interests in Brazil. Everyone on board has worked hard to ensure, that the ship is in perfect shape to represent Denmark and support Danish industry at a long list of events during the games.
