Nina Persson and MØ will play NorthSide 2014

The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Flogging Molly, Mount Kimbie, and The Mountains will join the two singers at NorthSide.

This year’s first announcements for NorthSide 2014 feature popular singers, rock legends, folk-punks, brand new Danish music, and English electronica.

Nina Persson
Nina Persson has since the early '90s been one of Swedish music's finest exports either as singer of The Cardigans, in collaboration with Sparklehorse and Manic Street Preachers, or as a solo artist under the name A Camp.

On the 10th of February, Nina Persson will for the first time release music under her own name, when the album "Animal Heart" hits stores - five years after the last release from the Swedish singer. But it has been worth the wait, and we very much look forward to welcoming Nina to NorthSide.

The Danish singer, Karen Marie Ørsted, has under the nom de plume MØ obtained a rarely seen success since the Danish and especially the international music magazines started writing about her in late 2012.

After several ep releases the award-winning singer with the international format will finally release her long-awaited debut album on March 10th. So the talented singer will return to NorthSide with lots of new material. Her NorthSide concert in 2013 was very well attended and a huge party, so it will be a pleasure to see her repeat the success this summer.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre
Anton Newcombe has since 1993 issued numerous records under the name The Brian Jonestown Massacre and received early in his career both attention and praise for three albums all of which in 1996 were released in the course of six months. The subsequent period of success was somewhat turbulent and were quite entertainingly portrayed in the much talked about movie "Dig".

The documentary attracted a lot of attention around the charismatic Newcombe, whose amazing music draws on 60s psychedelic rock presented in a modern noise rock context, which is guaranteed to be an interesting experience for guests at NorthSide.

Flogging Molly
The Irish-American folk-punk ensemble Flogging Molly with Dublin-born Dave King at the head was formed in 1997 as a regular weekly feature in an Irish pub in Los Angeles. The subsequent career has featured on five albums, but it is on stage the energetic music really comes into its own.

The band mixes with great originality traditional Celtic instruments with punk attitude and the result is a gripping and intense concert experience that is going to take the NorthSide audience by storm.

Mount Kimbie
The electronic duo Mount Kimbie debuted in 2010 with the ground breaking album "Crooks & Lovers", which is now seen as the first example of post-dubstep - a genre that quickly came to include both James Blake and Jamie xx.

On the latest album the duo has gone in a new musical direction, where the electronic music has gain a more organic sound, which live is provided by a full orchestra which adds weight to the otherwise fragile music, which we are really looking forward to experience this summer.

The Mountains
The Nordsø-brothers from The William Blakes have teamed up with moi Caprice-singer Michael Møller in a very exciting project, which aims to combine Frederik and Fridolin’s pop productions and R&B-sound with the indie edge of Michael’s vocals to create an ambitious pop album.

So far, the project has given us the singles "The Mountains" and "The Valleys", which bod well not just good for an upcoming album, but also for the trio's first concert at NorthSide .

The following names are now confirmed for NorthSide 2014: Ane Brun, Arcade Fire, Baby in Vain, The Blue Van, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Cold Specks, Flogging Molly, Franz Ferdinand, Lucy Love, Lulu James, Mew, The Mountains, Mount Kimbie, The National, Nina Persson, MØ, Pixies, Quadron, Queens of the Stone Age, Röyksopp & Robyn Do It Again 2014, Turboweekend, and WhoMadeWho.

NorthSide afholdes i Eskelunden, Aarhus
