Voddler launches monthly subscriptions for film packages

Voddler, Scandinavia’s leading film service, has just launched monthly subscriptions for selected film packages. For the equivalent of 9,90 EUR/month, customers get free access to both classical and modern movies. They can also pre-purchase individual Voddler Tickets, valid for all rental movies, to save both time and money.

Voddler’ catalog of over 4,000 titles from the world’s leading film studios is today 80% free and ad-funded. The rental titles, which normally are the slightly newer movies, have so far only been available on a per-title rental basis. Voddler now expands its business models to make it even easier and affordable to see rental movies.

-          We know that film lovers want easy payment solutions when they rent film. That’s why we now introduce monthly subscriptions for selected packages. We will continue to add packages, and also increase the number of titles in each package. The future of the film industry lies in making it easier for more movies to reach more viewers to the financial benefit of more film makers. This is one more step in that direction, says Anders Sjöman, head of communication at Voddler.

Voddler’s first monthly packages are called “Solida Drama”, with over 65 modern and classical titles, and “Lazy Days”, a collection of 65 entertainment movies. Both cost 9,90 EUR (or 99 SE, 99 DKK and 99 NOK depending on market), and the number of titles in each package will be increased and also rotated on regular intervals.

In addition, Voddler’s customers can already pre-purchase their rental films. Pre-purchasing adds Voddler Tickets to the customer’s account. The tickets have no expiration date and are valid for any rental film in the entire catalog. The ticket stacks that Voddler offer right now are “Family Stack”, meant for the active film viewer or families that share a Voddler-account, where the customer buys 23 tickets and receives 7 extra; and the “Popcorn Stack”, where the customer buys 10 tickets and receives 2 extra.
