Dustin takes corporate responsibility work to the next level – climate-neutral and circular by 2030

Dustin, a leading online IT partner in the Nordic region and the Netherlands, is now launching a new strategy for corporate responsibility. This strategy, which extends until 2030, focuses on three areas: climate, circularity and social equality. Among other things, the company is aiming to be the very first e-commerce provider in the Nordic region to be entirely climate neutral by 2030.

“We’re now producing the final report on the goals we set for 2020, and it’s time to take our corporate responsibility work to the next level by raising the bar even further,” says Henrik Lampa, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Dustin.

Dustin has based its new corporate responsibility strategy on three global challenges that society at large is now facing: climate change, unsustainable resource consumption and social inequalities. The strategy consists of three measurable goals, which state that by 2030 Dustin shall have:

  • 0 climate impact throughout the value chain.
  • a 100% circular offering.
  • taken 100 actions for social equality.

“In concrete terms, our new goals mean, among other things, that we’ll be using climate-neutral customer deliveries and outsourcing our production to factories that run on solar and wind power. We’ll also continue to focus on circular business models, where the reuse of hardware plays a very important role,” says Henrik Lampa.

Dustin is also taking work on diversity and equality one step further, as it will in future not only include its own employees, but we will also take on greater responsibility for the entire supply chain as well, from factory to employee.

“We believe in diversity and inclusion, making use of the entire talent base, regardless of gender, age and background. In the last five years alone, for example, the proportion of women in Dustin’s Executive Management team has gone from nine per cent to 50 per cent. At the same time, social equality is also about the rights of employees in our suppliers’ factories in Asia,” says Henrik Lampa.

With the new corporate responsibility strategy, Dustin also wants to inspire other companies in the industry to drive work forward and help contribute to positive social development.

“We’d like to see the industry collaborating more, as we’re all facing the same challenges. To achieve a greater impact, I believe that the industry has a great deal to gain if we become even better at collaborating. If we at Dustin are to succeed in achieving our ambitious corporate responsibility goals, we’re totally dependent on other actors in the value chain. So we’ll be doing all we can to encourage other companies who share our values to come along with us on this journey,” concludes Henrik Lampa.

Dustin reports the corporate responsibility results at the same level of scrutiny as financial results and they are reviewed by Dustin’s external auditor.
