Edblad’s Helping Hand series 2025 supports Plan International
For over a decade, Edblad’s Helping Hand initiative has transformed design jewellery into a force for good, raising millions of Swedish kroner for charitable causes. This year, Edblad is proud to support Plan International in their mission to empower girls through education and equal rights.
The International Day of the Girl 2025, on October 11, acknowledges the obstacles girls around the world face, while highlighting the importance of their rights and empowerment. By supporting Plan International and the International Day of the Girl, Edblad continues its mission to merge style with impact. From September of 2025 through to September 30th 2026, Edblad will donate 5 EUR per sold piece from this year’s Helping Hand series to Plan International in support of their work for the rights of young girls around the world.
Jewellery that empowers
This year’s Helping Hand design features a big heart carrying a smaller one, symbolizing the importance of lifting and supporting young girls and ensuring they have the same opportunities in life as boys. It is also a reminder of the little girl we once were and the women who helped shape us. “Making a difference in the world is a part of our legacy,” says Eva Boding, CEO of Edblad. “With each piece of Helping Hand jewellery sold, we take a step towards a future where every girl has a voice and an undeniable right to safety and education.”
Fighting for Girls’ Right to Education since 1989
The Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1989. It contains the generally accepted views on what rights all children should have, regardless of who they are or where they are born. This includes fundamental rights like health, water and food but also the right to be themselves, to an education and a safe home. Things that unfortunately aren’t a reality for many of the world’s children, and especially not for girls.
Until we are all equal
Education is one of the most powerful tools to break the cycle of poverty and discrimination. Plan International operates in over 80 countries and therefore plays an important role in implementing the Convention on the Rights of the Child, working to create a world where every child, especially girls, has access to safe, inclusive learning environments and education that empowers them to lead, innovate, and drive change. “When girls have access to education, they gain the power to shape their own futures and challenge the structures that hold them back. Together with Edblad, we are working towards a world where every girl can grow up safe, strong, and with equal opportunities,” says Nathalie Piehl, director fundraising and communication at Plan International Sweden.
Creating change – one piece of jewellery at a time
For Edblad, Helping Hand, which started as a small-scale project in support of workers and schools in disadvantaged areas, has evolved into a core part of the brand’s identity. “By choosing Helping Hand jewellery, our customers don’t just make a style statement — they actively support a movement for gender equality and children’s rights, helping us to create a better future where hopefully someday, we are all equal,” Eva Boding concludes.
This year’s Helping Hand series Heart to Heart includes a bracelet and a necklace in stainless steel that also comes with 14K gold plating. It will launch September 25 for the International Day of the Girl. For every piece of jewellery sold until September 30, 2026, 5 EUR is donated to Plan International.
