Student Exchange Australia New Zealand Offers Free Global Skills Prep Camp to Boost Critical Development in Teens

The online program, valued at AU$1,000/NZ$1000, will be available for free to all new exchange program applicants in January 2024.

Sydney, January 2, 2024 — In a move to further enhance the future success of teenagers, Student Exchange Australia New Zealand, a leading provider of student exchange programs, is offering its unique Global Skills online program for free to all new exchange students enrolling this January. This course aims to equip exchange students with essential skills to navigate a rapidly changing future.

The Global Skills Prep Camp is an online course designed to foster critical "soft skills" such as cultural awareness, critical thinking, working ethically with AI tools, and speaking confidently. These skills are increasingly recognised as vital for personal and professional success, often overlooked in traditional education but crucial in today's interconnected world.

According to the World Economic Forum, by 2025, social skills such as persuasion, emotional intelligence, and engaging with others will be in higher demand than technical skills in many industries. A LinkedIn survey (2019 Global Talent Trends Report) also found that over 90% of talent professionals consider so-called soft skills as important or more important than hard skills when making hiring decisions.

"Student Exchange Australia New Zealand is committed to preparing exchange students for a future where global skills are as important as academic knowledge," said Emma Egan, Marketing & Communications Manager. "By offering our Global Skills Prep Camp for free, we aim to provide exchange students with a comprehensive learning experience that goes beyond traditional education, preparing them with the skills they need to succeed in the global arena."

The Global Skills Prep Camp is conducted in a fun, interactive environment, making it an ideal platform for students to learn and grow; while developing critical digital literacy. This initiative is complementary to Student Exchange Australia New Zealand’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality high school abroad programs for exchange students.
