EIT ICT Labs innovators compete for EIT Awards
BUDAPEST, 09 April 2015 – EIT ICT Labs, the leading pan-European organisation for innovation and education in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), has nominated six innovators for the 2015 EIT Awards of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). The winners will be announced at INNOVEIT 2015 in Budapest, Hungary, on 06 May.
The EIT Awards promote the most promising European innovations. The awards put the spotlight on innovators and entrepreneurs involved in the EIT’s Knowledge and Innovation Communities, known as KICs. EIT ICT Labs is one of these communities.
“We are proud of the EIT ICT Labs innovators nominated for this year's EIT Award. This nomination shows their commitment to be part of the solutions to the challenges we are facing in industry and society", explains Willem Jonker, CEO of EIT ICT Labs.
For the EIT Venture Award, which puts the spotlight on entrepreneurial start-ups, EIT ICT Labs nominated voice-based social sports platform TOK.TV (www.tok.tv) and its co-founder Emanuela Zaccone; and mobile point-of-sale (POS) solution JUSP (www.jusp.com) and its CEO Stefano Calderano.
This year’s edition introduces the EIT Innovators Award as a new category. This award recognizes innovation teams that have developed an innovative product, service or process in an exemplary manner with a high potential impact on society and economy.
For this new category EIT ICT Labs has nominated DA4RBI (www.innovative-retail.de) ,an
in-store retail analytics project developed by Markus Löchtefeld; and MobileShield, a real-time security field for mobile platforms under Bruno Crispo (http://www.eitictlabs.eu/innovation-entrepreneurship/privacy-security-trust/real-time-security-shield-for-mobile-platforms/).
The two EIT ICT Labs nominees in the C.H.A.N.G.E category, which recognises ideas of young graduates from EIT education and training programmes, are Steven Tait of FavourExchange (http://www.mobileterritoriallab.eu/pages/favourexchange.html) and Zhenyu Lin of SensoryMedia (www.sensorymedia.co).
