Winter Heroes 6299

Press release —

New winter glove targets contact cold risks in metal handling

Handling metal tools, scaffolding and machinery in sub-zero temperatures exposes workers to rapid heat loss through direct contact. Even in moderate cold, metal surfaces quickly draw warmth from the skin, leading to numbness, reduced dexterity and stiffness. Repeated exposure may increase cold sensitivity and, in severe cases, contribute to long-term hand problems.

Ejendals now introduces TEGERA® SubZero 6299, a winter glove developed specifically to reduce the risks associated with contact cold in demanding outdoor environments.

Targeted palm insulation where heat loss occurs

Unlike conventional winter gloves that focus on general insulation, TEGERA® SubZero 6299 reinforces protection precisely where the risk is greatest – in the palm.

The glove integrates Calothan™ technology in the palm area, improving insulation against contact cold by up to 20 percent compared to standard constructions. By reducing heat transfer from cold metal surfaces, the glove helps maintain warmth and control when handling tools and components in freezing conditions.

“When fingers get too cold, workers lose both feeling and precision, which directly affects safety and performance,” says Anna Hedvall, Industrial Designer at Ejendals AB. “With Calothan™, we focus insulation exactly where contact cold occurs. The result is better warmth without sacrificing flexibility.”

Engineered for extreme winter conditions

TEGERA® SubZero 6299 combines contact cold protection with full weather resistance. Key features include:

  • 150 g Thinsulate™ insulation made from 78 percent recycled polyester
  • TEGERA® Aquathan® membrane providing waterproof and windproof protection
  • A long protective cuff for extended coverage
  • Prebent fingers and tailored design for improved flexibility
  • Premium full-grain leather palm for secure grip in cold environments

The backhand features high-visibility yellow TEGERA® Water Resistant textile for enhanced visibility. The glove is also equipped with touchscreen functionality to support modern work environments.

In total, the glove contains 24 percent recycled polyester, reflecting Ejendals’ ongoing efforts to integrate more sustainable materials without compromising performance.

Part of Winter Heroes 2026

The launch of TEGERA® SubZero 6299 is part of Ejendals’ Winter Heroes 2026 range. The assortment also includes the JALAS® Zenit Evo 7188 winter safety boot and new additions to the existing TEGERA® PRO winter glove collection.

With SubZero 6299, Ejendals strengthens its commitment to reducing hand-related risks in cold and demanding work environments.
