Organizational Changes at Ekornes

Ekornes is implementing several changes in its executive management and key organizational functions following the recent appointment of Fredrik Ødegård Nilsen as the company’s new CEO.

Ekornes is the largest furniture manufacturer in the Nordic region, headquartered in Sykkylven on the west coast of Norway. The company is now introducing a series of adjustments with immediate effect.

“Ekornes has solid products and highly skilled employees, and our focus now is to ensure stability and momentum across the entire organization. Our employees are our most important asset,” says Ødegård Nilsen.

Chief Operating Officer (COO) Fredrik Samson is stepping down from his position and leaving Ekornes. Lars Wittemann will assume the role of interim COO. He currently serves as VP Supply Chain at Ekornes and has more than ten years of experience with the company, including several years in the executive management team.

Daniel Jarnes will take on the role of interim CFO. He currently serves as VP Business Controlling at Ekornes. Jarnes has been with the company since 2019 and previously held several finance positions at Rolls-Royce.

In addition, the factory director at Ikornnes and Aure in Sykkylven, Kariann Sandvik, has decided to pursue opportunities outside Ekornes. Jon Einar Løvold is appointed factory director. He has been Technical Manager at Ekornes since 2014.

The changes are due to different assessments of how the company’s strategy is best implemented in the period ahead.
