National Elephant Day celebrated in Thailand

Yesterday was National Elephant Day in Thailand. Mike Spits, the founder of Elephant Parade, Carmen Rademaker, the Director of the Asian Elephant Foundation and some of the EP team went to the Friends of the Asian Elephant Hospital in Lampang to celebrate this special day.

The new elephant nursery was opened with a special monks ceremony to bless the new building. One of the newest additions to the FAE Hospital was a new baby elephant called Pim.

The Friends of the Asian Elephant Hospital does amazing work. They have treated nearly 4,000 elephants and 2014 is their 22nd anniversary.

Soraida Salwala is the founder of the FAE Hospital. Thank you Soraida Salwala for your tireless work and dedication to looking after these beautiful creatures.
