FUZZWIRE SPONSORS POP ART ELEPHANT

Fuzzwire - the UK’s leading innovator and provider of 3D design and display solutions - has sponsored an elephant for the duration of the Elephant Parade national tour, which visits 13 towns, culminating in London next August.

There has been a recent surge in interest to sponsor the elephant statues that are working their way around the UK. Businesses both big and small are jumping at the chance to get involved with a public art exhibition that simultaneously raises awareness of Asian elephant conservation and engages school children in a thought-provoking project.

The tour provides a range of different sponsorship opportunities -small businesses can sponsor for just one leg of the tour and bigger businesses can sponsor elephants for the duration of the tour. Fuzzwire’s sponsorship has supported the community outreach of the tour, helping to ensure the conservation message reaches the broadest possible audience. The community outreach programme includes painting workshops at each tour venue, a digital show reel at intu centres showcasing thousands of local elephant design ideas, and a schools programme which uses art to raise awareness of elephant conservation.

At each tour venue the national tour herd will be joined by school elephants that will stand beside the work of celebrities and top artists.

Mark Sibborn, Client Services Director at Fuzzwire commented: "we are delighted to be involved in this very exciting and worthwhile initiative.  As a major supplier of 3D displays to intu we are very pleased to support the elephant parade."

Fuzzwire have chosen to sponsor ‘Pop Art’ an elephant designed by Nattapol Buaum, a Thai artist who wanted to combine both British and Thai cultures into his design. Nattapol explained how his art piece “was inspired by Eddie Voho and seeks to contrast colours and shades in a striking way. The bright colours symbolise the positive future we hope to secure for the Asian elephant.” The design contrasts to some of the more classical elephants on tour.

Trevor Pereira, commercial director at tour sponsor intu said “We’re so pleased that Fuzzwire have become part of this ground-breaking tour, it’s fantastic to see so many people getting involved and supporting the community element of the tour while simultaneously showing support for the conservation of the Asian elephant. This parade is continuously bringing people from all walks of life together and Fuzzwire is one of a number of sponsors showing leadership from the business community backing the parade.
