We often say that Elfa’s soul arose from a brilliant idea, as if it were a eureka moment or a bolt of lightning. It didn’t happen like that, of course. In 1948, pretty much everyone felt a real and urgent need for change in their everyday lives. The ideas that formed what Elfa is today sprung out of real life, from real people and their daily chores and struggles.
