Erik Thun Group Strengthens Long-Term Fleet Support Through New Agreement with Wärtsilä and MF Shipping Group
Erik Thun Group is pleased to confirm the signing of a new long‑term service agreement with Wärtsilä, developed in close cooperation with our long-standing fleet management partner MF Shipping Group. The agreement covers comprehensive overhaul services for the coming years, including Field Service, Workshop support, and Parts supply for vessels across the Erik Thun fleet.
This step reinforces a partnership anchored in decades of collaboration. Since 1994, MF Shipping Group has managed vessels for Erik Thun Group, building on a relationship that dates back to 1984 and has continued to evolve through shared values of reliability, trust, and operational excellence. Over the years, MF Shipping Group has also led the management of several of our newbuilding projects, constructed at Ferus Smit shipyard, contributing to a fleet of more than 50 jointly delivered vessels.
As we continue to introduce new and increasingly sustainable generations of ships, the support of Wärtsilä plays an important role. Their lifecycle solutions and efficiency expertise contribute directly to our long‑term ambitions for safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations. This agreement further enhances the operational continuity of our fleet while supporting the broader decarbonisation efforts underway within the maritime industry.
