Press release -

SKF Motion Technologies to unveil new name and branding at Motek 2019 and launch range of next generation and IoT ready linear motion products

SKF Motion Technologies (SMT) will unveil its new name and visual identity at this year’s Motek exhibition, as an independent business, following its acquisition from SKF Group by Triton Partners in December 2018.

The new brand will be revealed on 7th October on Booth 4524 followed by a press conference at 2pm with SMT’s Chief Executive, Daniel Westberg, where he will share his vision for the next phase of the business.

SMT will also launch three new next-generation and IoT ready products and applications at the exhibition. These include:

LIFTKIT and SLIDEKIT – a new series of linear motion modules designed to increase the capability of small industrial automation robots and cobots. The new modules can extend the reach and mobility of standard robots without the need for upgrades or complex accessories and programming.

CEMC Series – an ultra-compact electro-mechanical actuator for automotive spot-welding applications to help car manufacturers develop IoT-ready welding lines. The new CEMC series is 10% lighter than SMT’s former series and has a high load capacity of 25kN at peak force, with linear speeds up to 600mm/s, giving it the best power to weight ratio on the market. It also has double the life – 20 million spot welding operations – and requires only one relubrication interval, minimising maintenance costs and downtime, while maintaining constant force and positional repeatability.

CASM-100 – a new series of IoT-enabled electro-mechanical actuators. CASM 100 provides force up to 82kN at operating speeds of up to 1m/s and incorporates a set of sensors to detect any variation in force and operating temperature with extreme precision.Real-time information allows users to improve equipment/machine productivity, process control and critical failure protection without any major modification of the current machine layout.

SKF Motion Technologies can be found in Hall 4, Booth 4524, Monday 7th October-10th October, Motek, Messe Stuttgart, Germany.
