The future of retail has long been debated, and the online shopping has changed the rules of the game. The step forward in this situation might be to take a step back. The vital thing that separates e-commerce from a physical store is – the store. We wish to make the most of it, together.

Modern retailers today need to re-position, in one way or another, in order to keep the customers in the brick-and-mortar store. Visiting a store is, and will remain, essential to retail. If done right, the store will emphasize the brand’s purpose, the physical experience can become their brand’s key differentiator.

– We believe that the future store is more than a transaction place, says Sofie Dahlberg, Business Unit Director Fagerhults Belysning AB. The purchase is not in focus, the experience is. We need to feel that it is not about screens or tablets, and that we are getting something extra. That is where Fagerhult, with our knowledge and lighting solutions, are able to help the client set the mood and create a memorable atmosphere for the customer. The right lighting concept can vastly support and enhance how the store builds brand, and how the customer perceive the store.

Fast shifting world

The trends in retail for the last years has dealt with collaborations and the connection between social media and shopping.

– It is a fast shifting world today, and we as a supplier need to have insight in different areas of interest and trends for our clients sake, says Sofie Dahlberg. Fagerhult always strive to include as many competences as possible, because we know that we are better together. When we all contribute in a project, and share our knowledge, that is when the magic happens.
