New, energy-efficient luminaire assortment for grocery stores

Energy efficiency is one of the most important requirements of grocery stores, since facilities are often quite large and opening hours are typically long. But in addition to that, there is a desire for features that enhance the appearance of foods and create a pleasant atmosphere for customers.

“We’ve been striving for quite some time to offer a complete solution, which meets all the unique requirements of grocery stores. During the development process, we’ve given special consideration to flexibility and lighting control, for example. My hope is that we will exceed our customers’ expectations, by offering them precisely the solution they desire for their grocery stores,” says Monica Weinizt, Managing Director at Fagerhult Retail.

With iTrack, Fagerhult’s flexible track lighting system, you can control the lighting in a variety of ways, e.g. with sensors or by setting the time span when you want a particular luminaire to be on. You can also combine general lighting and accent lighting with DALI, emergency lighting and loudspeakers, all in the same track lighting system. Together with iTrack Line LED, the latest addition to the iTrack product line, it is now possible to control the entire store and achieve major energy savings. iTrack Line LED is a linear luminaire, without any separate adaptors, resulting in a sleek, modern design.

The right lighting solution for food products is particularly important, since it can alter perception and make items look even more appetizing. Fagerhult has spotlights (Marathon Rich, Glow, Zone Evo Rich and Glow) that have been specially designed to intensify the vivid colours of fruits, vegetables and other fresh foods. Rich luminaires are equipped with an LED module that specifically boosts reds and blues. This makes them optimal for deli and seafood, since the red shades in meat, salmon and shellfish are enhanced, as well as the silvery-blue shades in other types of fish, giving them a very fresh appearance. Glow luminaires are strong in the warm coloured spectrum, making them particularly suitable for breads, cheeses, fruits and vegetables. These are available as both recessed and track mounted spotlights. They can also be installed together with spotlights that have conventional LED modules.

Multilume Function LED provides comfortable, general lighting that is energy-efficient, with minimal glare. Beta reflector louvre ensures that light is directed specifically at the products on the shelves, rather than the floor. These luminaires are designed for easy installation in functional ceilings or on a track.

With these products, along with our pendant luminaires and new assortment of spotlights, we are able to offer our customers a complete solution that meets all of their needs. In addition, we can now reduce the energy use in stores by up to 50%,” says Andreas Bernet, Product and Application Manager at Fagerhult Retail.
