Press release -
Lars Vester Pedersen leaves the management of Falck
Lars Vester Pedersen will leave his position as Executive Vice President for Falck Assistance Nordic and as member of the global management of Falck to retire at the end of this year.
He started in Falck as rescuer in 1979 and has had leading positions in the company for more than 30 years. Most recently, Lars Vester Pedersen headed Falck Assistance’s successful turnaround, which recreated the profitability of the business and set the course for its development into a digital future.
Jakob Riis will take over as head of Falck Assistance until a new EVP is appointed. Lars Vester Pedersen will support Jakob Riis in the day-to-day management of Falck Assistance.
CEO Jakob Riis says:
”I would like to thank Lars Vester Pedersen for his efforts for Falck for 40 years. I have enjoyed working with him and I am grateful for his major contribution and his ability to set the team which will take Falck Assistance through an impressive transformation. Lars Vester Pedersen carries Falck in his heart and in that sense, he is a huge inspiration.
Lars Vester Pedersen leaves a business in good shape. Before taking on the position in Falck Assistance, he was managing director of our Danish ambulance business. Lars Vester Pedersen has decided to leave his management positions now, as the recent decision from the Danish Competition Council may question his role in Falck’s actions in 2014-15.
I only know Lars Vester Pedersen as a reliable, decent and very honest colleague. I respect that he does not want to be in a position where he may be viewed as a liability to Falck when Falck works diligently to regain trust in the company.”
Lars Vester Pedersen says:
”I celebrated 40 years with Falck on 1 March and in that connection I decided to retire at the end of the year. I have decided to leave my management positions now because I will not risk that I cast shadow on the results that we create. Falck and all our rescuers, firefighters and assistance employees in Falck Assistance do an extraordinary effort every day and do not deserve that we run that risk.”
