Falck improves profitability and cash flow – accelerates cultural turnaround

Today, leading emergency response and healthcare company Falck released its financial results for Q1 2019 and announced a comprehensive self-cleaning programme, Clear.
For three years, blood samples and medical equipment will be flown with drones between Odense, Svendborg and Ærø in a new project launched by researchers, Falck and Autonomous Mobility. Later, drones will also transport highly specialized healthcare professionals who need to arrive quickly.
Previa, a company in the Falck Group, expands its operations through a partnership agreement with the Volvo Group. As part of the contract Previa is taking over Volvo's internal occupational healthcare service, Alviva, and becomes supplier of occupational healthcare service to the Volvo Group in Sweden.
The company continued to restore profitability by reducing complexity, improving efficiency and implementing global operating models. However, reported profitability was significantly impacted by clean-up activities caused by the turnaround.
Anette Damgaard is appointed new managing director of Falck Healthcare. She assumes the new responsibilities in addition to her current role as head of Falck Healthcare in Denmark.
Highlights of Falck’s financial results for 2017:
Revenue was flat at DKK 15,227 million (2016: DKK 15,109m).
Operating profit (EBITA) was DKK 2 million (2016: DKK 758m) for an EBITA margin of 0% (2016: 5.0%). EBITA was negatively impacted by DKK 344 million in write-downs on accounts receivable in its US Ambulance business and on the carrying amount of its customer management system in Assist
