Canon invites up-and-coming photographers to grow their talents at Visa Pour L’Image

Ahead of the world leading photo festival Visa Pour L’Image, Canon makes a big shout out to all up-and-coming photographers. The company invites 200 students to an all-expenses-paid three-day development workshop where they get the opportunity to develop their talents and network with industry professionals.

“We strongly believe in the dedication to photography and the importance of this work field. Therefore, we want to give students the opportunity to visit this exhibition where the world’s most outstanding photo journalism is centred. We hope that the workshop will work as a stepping stone for these talented young photographers to take the next step in their careers” said Jenni Lindström, Marketing Director at Canon Nordic.

Based on a series of applications, Canon will select a group of 200 students across Europe and offer them the opportunity to attend Visa Pour L’Image – one of the photo industry’s yearly main events. There, they get the opportunity to develop their skills from industry leaders, network with industry professionals and have their portfolios reviewed by inspirational editors and Canon Ambassadors.

For the photography community, Visa Pour L’Image means unrivalled opportunities to exchange creative ideas, develop new relationships and enjoy a range of captivating lectures and seminars from professionals who hand over their visual journalism know-how to the next generation.

“For the third consecutive year, Canon Europe has developed this educational workshop which is completely free of charge. During three days, the students get to challenge their understandings of photography with insights from industry professionals who share their tips and tricks, followed by a Q&A session” said Jenni Lindstöm.

Visa Pour L’Image photo festival will take place in September in Perpignan, France. This year’s edition of the event marks its 31st edition. Canon started supporting the festival in 1990 and has been its main sponsor since 2005.
