Semper sells Nordics gluten free business to Dr. Schär

Stockholm/ Sundbyberg, August 23, 2023– Semper part of the Hero Group today announces the sales of its gluten free business in the Nordics.

The business was sold to Dr. Schär, which is a global leader in gluten-free nutrition and food for people with special nutritional needs. Dr. Schär has been involved in the gluten free industry for more than four decades.

The deal includes the Semper gluten free crisp bread bakery in Korsnäs.

• We are very pleased to have found an ideal new home, where our gluten-free business can grow to its full potential. We are divesting the business to secure a long-term future with a new strategic owner for our colleagues working in the gluten free business. The divestment is part of our long-term strategy to focus on our core categories in the Nordics of Baby & Toddler Food and Healthy Snacks, says Jim Frandsen, CEO Semper AB.

Financial details of the transaction are not being disclosed. The transaction will become effective on December 29, 2023, subject to the completion of union negotiations and formal transaction procedures.
