The Storm That is Raging in Europe Leaves Thousands Without Power in Finland

Gusts of wind of 20 meters per second were recorded in Turku and Åland regions. At this writing, the storm is blowing 20,3 meters per second around the most southern city, Hanko.

The storm has affected the ferry traffic. Finnlines car ferry had to turn around in Sweden and return to Naantali, southwestern Finland, because of being unable to dock in Kappelskär harbor, north of Stockholm.

Viking Line has canceled several ferries that were supposed to leave from Mariehamn, Åland, during Sunday night. The morning ferry between Mariehamn and Stockholm has been canceled, too.
