OutDoor Industry Award to Fjällräven’s brand NEW Abisko Shape 2

Abisko Shape 2 from Fjällräven has received a prestigious OutDoor Industry Award. The tunnel tent is part of Fjällräven’s brand new tent collection and a result of a comprehensive development program. Its new, extremely strong lightweight fabrics, new constructions and practical features make for a tent that has won the panel’s hearts. Abisko Shape 2 will be available in stores from spring 2016.

The OutDoor Industry Award is one of the leading international design awards for companies in the outdoor industry. The winners are selected by a panel of independent expert judges and announced at the OutDoor Trade Fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

This year, an OutDoor Industry Award has been presented to Abisko Shape 2, created for trekkers who want a lightweight tunnel tent that still offers a high level of strength and has lots of space for equipment in the vestibule. It is an incredibly flexible tent with exceptional ventilation possibilities, including a new, smart roll-up feature that allows the flysheet to be rolled up at both ends while still protecting the sleeping area and equipment from sudden rain showers. This gives superior airflow and is equally convenient in unpredictable Scandinavian mountain weather as it is in warmer climates.

Abisko Shape 2 uses new high-performance TripleRip nylon fabrics and has a new, innovative dual fabric flysheet. Here, fabrics of different deniers are combined – the more exposed sections are reinforced with a stronger fabric, while less exposed sections have lighter fabric – for an optimised strength/weight ratio.

Fjällräven’s new tent range also sets a new standard for sustainability in outdoor tent manufacturing. All new tents are free from pvc plastics, pfc dwr, and toxic flame-retardants.
