Flic Duo Mass Production Begins Following Thousands of Pre-Orders

Shortcut Labs, creators of the world-renowned Flic Smart Button, today announced that mass production of its next-generation product, Flic Duo, has officially begun.

After completing all certifications and several successful pre-production runs, the company’s manufacturing partners have now started full assembly of Flic Duo units marking the final stage before customer deliveries begin.

“This is a major milestone for us,” said Joacim Westlund Prändel, CEO at Shortcut Labs. “Thousands of customers have already pre-ordered Flic Duo, and we’re incredibly thankful for the response. The factory is now in full motion, and we couldn’t be happier with how the final product is turning out.”

Certified, Enhanced, and Ready for Assembly

Flic Duo has passed all required certifications, including approval for 5 dBm transmission power, giving it a slightly better range than previous generations of Flic buttons.

The product now includes two fully programmable buttons, as well as a built-in buzzer for sound feedback and an accelerometer that enables gesture recognition and fall detection, expanding its potential far beyond standard button control.

Beyond button presses, Flic Duo introduces new ways to interact with your smart devices. It can be controlled through pushes, motion swipes, and rotation gestures, giving users a tactile yet dynamic way to manage their smart home or professional systems.
Flic Duo also adapts to its environment with different capabilities when mounted on the wall versus when used off the wall. For example, it can change lighting or trigger scenes when mounted, and when detached, adjust music volume or activate other functions.

This dual-behavior design makes Flic Duo one of the most versatile smart controllers on the market.

One Platform for Consumers and Businesses

While the launch of Flic Duo focuses initially on end consumers and smart home users, the device itself is designed to serve both the consumer and enterprise markets. The same product used for home automation can also be deployed in professional and safety-critical applications such as personal alarms, healthcare environments, and workplace safety.

Shortcut Labs confirmed that SDKs and enterprise integration tools will be released in Q1 2026, enabling partners to easily connect Flic Duo into professional monitoring and IoT systems.

Production Underway and Shipping Soon

With production assembly now underway, Shortcut Labs expects to begin shipping the first customer orders within the coming weeks, followed by continuous waves as more units are completed.

“It will take some time for all pre-orders to be fulfilled,” added Westlund Prändel, “but production is moving steadily, and quality remains our top priority. We’re overwhelmed by the enthusiasm from our community and thrilled to finally see Flic Duo coming to life.”
