Press release —
Public Consultation Events Announced for Balnespick Wind Farm
Members of the local community are being invited to attend upcoming public consultation events for the proposed Balnespick Wind Farm on Monday 11 May.
The events form part of the next stage of the project and will present updated proposals, including Further Environmental Information (FEI) prepared following earlier rounds of community consultation and feedback.
The consultation events will provide an opportunity for members of the public to:
· View updated project information and visualisations
· Learn how community feedback has influenced the evolving design
· Speak directly with members of the project team
Two drop-in consultation sessions will take place on Monday 11 May:
· 10:00am - 2:00pm Carrbridge Village Hall
· 4:00pm - 8:00pm Strathdearn Hub
Representatives from Fred. Olsen Renewables and the wider project team will be available throughout both sessions to answer questions and discuss the proposals.
Cris Thacker, Communications Manager, said:
“We are pleased to be presenting the community with updated information on the Balnespick Wind Farm proposal. Community engagement is an important part of the development process, and we welcome the opportunity to continue the conversation, explain how feedback has informed the project, and hear further views from local residents and stakeholders.”

Fred. Olsen Renewables is one of the longest-standing renewable energy developers in Scotland.
Our UK portfolio comprises 258 operational turbines, with a further 75 turbines consented. This, combined with our projects in Norway and Sweden, brings our total operational capacity to 787.7 MW – providing enough power for 586,190 homes.
We are excited about the future. With a pipeline of more than 1GW, central to our success will be collaboration with communities, commitment to local businesses and contribution towards Scotland’s sustainable future.
Comments made to the project team during consultation events or submitted directly to the developer are not formal representations to the decision-making authority. Should an application be accompanied by Further Environmental Information, there will be an opportunity at that stage for members of the public to submit formal representations to the Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit.
