Furetank first shipping company granted green credit guarantee: "An important step in the industry transformation”
As the first shipping company in Sweden, Furetank has been granted a green credit guarantee by the Swedish Export Credit Agency for financing a vessel of top-class environmental and climate standard. The approval is pioneering for shipping, enabling vast investments in the green technology required to achieve European climate goals.

Furetank secures biogas supply as step towards fossil-free shipping
Liquefied biogas is one of the keys to fossil-free shipping – but lack of supply is a major issue. The Swedish shipping company Furetank has signed a letter of intent with Eskilstuna Biogas, enabling the development of a new biogas plant producing around 5,000 tonnes of LBG annually.

Furetank offsets remaining emissions – reaching zero for new ships 2021
In the striving for zero climate impact, it is impossible to eliminate all emissions at once. With the new Vinga vessel series, Furetank has more than halved CO2 emissions. Now the company offsets the rest of their impact through certified carbon credits, all the way down to zero for 2021.

With solar panels and geothermal heating we reduce the HQ’s annual use of purchased energy by 80% and lower our CO2 emissions by 26 tonnes.
