Film: Halving CO2 emissions through energy efficient vessel design

An important factor behind lowering CO2 emissions from our Vinga vessels by 55 per cent is the focus on energy savings. In this film we show how Furetank designed the vessels and optimized all onboard equipment.

In the Vinga vessel series we have installed the most efficient equipment available, optimized all onboard systems and reuse energy in smart flows including exhaust, cooling water and accommodation heat. The hotel load is merely a third compared to earlier comparable vessels.

Looking at the IMO energy efficiency index, Fure Vinga's EEDI value is 4.65, making it the most energy efficient ship of its size globally.

"We are surprised that we were able to come this far, and the result is better than we thought it would be. But we don't stop with this. For every vessel we try to do even better", says Furetank CEO Lars Höglund.
