New diska Store Reaches an Important Milestone
Last week, the topping-out ceremony for the new diska supermarket in Obermaßfeld-Grimmenthal was celebrated. A modern local supplier is being built on a previously vacant site, which will greatly support the community and surrounding area for years to come.
The topping-out ceremony provided an impressive insight into the progress of the project and underlined the strong cooperation between our long-standing partner and project developer Schröder Holding GmbH, the Franconian community, the future tenant diska - a subsidiary of the EDEKA Group Nordbayern-Sachsen-Thüringen, and all project partners involved. After the carpenter's traditional topping-out speech, the last nails were symbolically hammered in, marking an important milestone for the project.
As the future manager of the property, we are investing in the future of the site together with our sister company Greenman Energy, who will be installing a photovoltaic system on the roof of the new store, which will cover part of the store's electricity requirements by using renewable energy.
Among the guests in attendance, were the mayor of the municipality Martin Hofmann, project developer Hermann Schröder, representatives of the construction companies involved, Jörg Junghanns, Expansion manager for the EDEKA Group Nordbayern-Sachsen-Thüringen, as well as other project partners.
Construction work is progressing steadily, with the opening scheduled for the second quarter of 2026. The modern diska store comprises approximately 790m2 of retail space, as well as a bakery and a butcher shop.
GFORM has supported the project throughout the entire transaction and financing process and will take over the future management of the store. We would like to express our gratitude for the trusting cooperative partnership and look forward to the next steps in the project, as well as continuing our close cooperation with EDEKA Nordbayern-Sachsen-Thüringen.
