Opening of the Brand-New EDEKA Centre in Crimmitschau

A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure of attending the opening of the brand-new EDEKA Centre in Crimmitschau (Saxony) - a modern local retail provider that sets a strong benchmark for the region's retail sector.

Just three months after the topping-out ceremony, the store was completed on schedule and opened just in time for the Christmas season, which is an impressive result and highlights the close and efficient collaboration between all project stakeholders. Among the guests in attendance was Lord Mayor Andrè Raphael, who emphasised the importance of the store for regional supply as well as the added value created through the close cooperation between businesses, project partners and the municipality. We would like to extend a special thanks to our long-standing partner Schröder Holding GmbH, who delivered the project reliably and on schedule.

With approximately 2,500 m² of retail space, the store offers an exceptionally broad and contemporary range of products which include a vegan butcher counter - a first for the region, a wide range of organic assortments, dry-aged meat and a cheese somelier as well as a local bakery and freshly prepared Asian cuisine.

The site also sets new standards in terms of sustainability with rooftop photovoltaic systems and electric vehicle charging stations which were implemented by our sister company Greenman Energy, ensuring an ESG compliant future for the property.

We are very pleased to take over the management of this asset as well as expanding our portfolio with another high-quality, future-oriented food retail location. We look forward to our continued long-term partnership with our tenant EDEKA Nordbayern-Sachsen-Thüringen and continued successful cooperation with the City of Crimmitschau.
