Supporting Global Operations Behind the Scenes

Recently, the Global Wind Service warehouse teams celebrated the delivery of container number 400 from the current warehouse setup.

Over the past eight years, the teams have delivered:

  • 400 containers
  • more than 800,000 tools supporting projects globally

The milestone reflects how warehouse operations at GWS have developed alongside the company’s international growth.

Growing with Global Wind Service

The first GWS warehouse operations were established in Denmark in 2011. At the beginning, the Danish warehouse supplied tools, equipment and PPE across all company operations globally.

As GWS expanded internationally, warehouse operations were established in Poland, the United States and Taiwan to support growing regional activity and operational needs.

Today:

  • the Danish warehouse primarily focuses on tools,
  • the Polish warehouse specialises in blade tools, rope access equipment and PFPE while also managing a significant part of the GWS vehicle fleet,
  • the United States warehouse supports projects across the US market,
  • and the Taiwan warehouse supplies PPE to local operations.

Over the years, warehouse activities in several countries were consolidated into the main warehouse hubs in Denmark and Poland, strengthening coordination and operational alignment across regions.

Supporting Projects Globally

Warehouse teams support projects through planning, coordination and delivery of approved equipment to technicians and sites across multiple countries.

Using shared systems and aligned processes across locations allows teams to coordinate deliveries efficiently, collaborate globally and continuously improve ways of working.

Although each warehouse supports different operational areas, all locations work toward the same goal: delivering reliable support to projects while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Built by Experienced Teams

The development of the warehouse setup has also been shaped by the people behind it.

In Poland, Warehouse Supervisor Łukasz Lenczewski recently celebrated 10 years with GWS after helping build the warehouse setup from the beginning. In Denmark, Head of Tools & Warehouse Kenneth Jelling has been part of GWS for 13 years and has followed the development of warehouse operations throughout much of the company’s international expansion.

Their experience reflects the continuity, collaboration and operational knowledge supporting warehouse operations across Global Wind Service today.
